Since its launch in August, A Total War Saga: Troy has slowly added new features and content. This week we’re finally adding one of the most anticipated features, multiplayer. Total War players now have time to play against the game’s AI opponents, so as of Thursday, November 26th, they can play against up to seven other players.
As reported by Rock Paper Shotgun, the multiplayer update adds both competitive and collaborative play. Competitive games allow custom matches with up to 7 players and can even be set to one of many community-made custom maps in the game.
Co-op play allows you to team up and play game campaigns with your friends, but there aren’t many details about how co-op works. The November 26th multiplayer release is in beta, so we anticipate some bugs and twists that still need to be resolved.
GameSpot’s A Total War Saga: Troy review rated the game as 7/10: “At best, Troy is a pretty epic series of bloody and fun battles, almost as good as the series offered. That’s it. ” The downside was that there were simply “too many fights to fight” in the game’s campaign, but perhaps that grind could be improved by co-op, or by adding more intelligent opponents. ..
