Trade delegation visiting the Philippines

Farmers and agricultural leaders in Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota are embarking on a trade mission to the Philippines.

Minnesota Ag Commissioner Tom Petersen says the delegation will leave on July 10.

“The Philippines is a good market for corn and pork, where various tariffs have changed.”

He says the Midwest trade delegation will market its products and producers to the brownfield.

“We are competing in the global market (telling importers). Minnesota produces high quality crops and is well available. How our farmers use them. It’s like talking about what to produce, and take some of our farmers (to us) to help connect with those producers. “

The Philippines is the eighth largest market for US agricultural exports and the top market in Southeast Asia.
