UCL Rewind: Porto faints Juventus, Borussia Dortmund expels Sevilla – Soccer Sports

The quest for Cristiano Ronaldo to bring the Champions League title to Juventus was once again lacking, but Erling Haaland continued to make the current Champions League tournament his own personal showcase.

With Juventus defeated in Sergio Oliviera’s 115-minute free-kick finish and Porto advance to the Champions League quarter-finals, FC Porto overcame the red card and Federico Chiesa doubled to clear the Champions League 16 turmoil.

Oliveira’s free kick brought the final total score to 4-4, and Porto advanced on away goals tiebreakers.

Oliviera played the hero in five minutes to play after both sides seemed to need a penalty shootout to determine the winner. Weston McKennie tackled the midfielder, leading to a free kick, a missile from nearly 30 years ago. Wojciech Szczesny reached out to the effort, but couldn’t stop it as Porto advanced away goals.

Juventus pulled the level in the 49th minute after Oliviera’s penalty kick opener in the first half, with Federico Chiesa scoring the first goal of the final brace. Argentines doubled in 63 minutes after Mehdi Taremi’s second yellow card breach reduced Porto to 10.

When Adrien Rabiot led Federico Bernardeschi’s cross over Agustín Marchesin, Oliviera’s goal was in the 117th minute, but Juventus couldn’t answer with the fourth goal of the night.

The old lady will focus on regaining the Serie A title after losing in Round 16 for the second year in a row.

Harland Double Dump Sevilla

Erling Haaland continued Borussia Dortmund’s dominant Champions League on Tuesday, scoring two goals in a 2-2 Sevilla match against Riga’s Sevilla.

Black and yellow advanced to the quarterfinals after edging the Spanish clubs a total of 5-4. Haaland scored four of the team’s five goals in Round 16.

At the start of the match, Haaland scored once in each half, so it was all Dortmund. His opening round came in 35 minutes when Marco Reus’s dangerous run and cutback set up the Norwegians for his first night.

After winning the penalty kick, Dortmund doubled its advantage as Haaland scored on the spot. Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou deviated from his line on the first attempt, giving Harland a second chance from a distance of 6 yards.

Sevilla made things interesting as Youssef Ennesiri found the back of the net twice in the last 27 minutes. The striker scored from the penalty spot in the 69th minute, adding 1 second to the 6-minute stop.

However, it turned out to be too late for Sevilla.
