Valve hires another psychologist to “create a compelling gameplay experience”

Valve is looking for a psychologist to join the team and help develop future games and their storefront, Steam. A new list looking for people to join the studio from the Bellevue office in Washington has been posted on the official website.

“We hire people with a wide range of skill sets who also have deep expertise,” the list says. “Valve’s psychologists have contributed to various initiatives throughout the company and are trusted to work with colleagues to prioritize their work.”

Known for Half Life: Alyx, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the studio has hired many psychologists over the years. Job listings indicate that candidates need to “research compelling new hardware technologies” in order to create new experiences for their players. Valve was praised for how Half Life: Alyx used virtual reality technology to move the media forward. VR Shooter was GameSpot’s Game of the Year in 2020.
