Yellow Brick Games is a new game development studio opened in Quebec, Canada, with the vision of “returning to the basics” of next-generation hardware, backed by the creative talents of BioWare, Ubisoft and EA.

Laidlaw explained that the studio’s purpose is to return to a smaller, more agile team where all developers have a say in the product they’re working on.

Laidlaw spent 14 years at BioWare, working as lead designer and series creative director for Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age II, and Dragon Age: Inquisition. He also worked on Mass Effect and Jade Empire. After leaving BioWare, Laidlaw joined Ubisoft Quebec and stayed there for over a year. He left the studio in early 2020.
