Many Watchers at The Game Awards were surprised to see actor Vin Diesel appear in the minutes to promote an unexpected sequel to Ark: Survival Evolved. But it turns out that Vin Diesel isn’t just making the best impression of Turok on Ark2. He’s also helping developer Studio Wildcard make that happen.
In a press release, Studio Wildcard states that Vin Diesel will not only play Ark2’s hero Santiago, but will also serve on the production team as President of Wildcard’s Creative Convergence. It’s unclear what this flashy title means, so a press release later revealed that Diesel would play the role of executive producer. Ark 2 is said to be exclusive to the Xbox Series X / Series S, but it’s unclear if it’s exclusive to the time limit. Also, nothing has been announced about the release date.
This is not the first time an actor has been personally involved in creating a game. Diesel founded developer Tigon Studios in 2002 and produced several games he starred in, especially the Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay and its remake / sequel Assault On Dark Athena. Diesel is also a well-known fan of Dungeons & Dragons.
