Watch Dogs Legion patch fixes a variety of platform-specific issues

Ubisoft has released a patch for Watch Dogs Legion that includes fixes for all platforms.

Part of the fix Watch Dogs Legion Patches are global, but most are platform-specific.

It doesn’t include any fixes that have come to the player’s mind for some time. This is an Xbox Series X / S save issue.

However, the development team has identified the root cause and is working on additional fixes for this particular issue.

Apparently, the save issue is with the autosave feature. If you close and reopen the game, you will lose progress.

Hopefully this will be sorted immediately. In the meantime, see the patch notes for today’s update below.

Watch Dogs Legion Patch 2.30

global

  • Fixed an issue where players could change game difficulty and permadeath options in the main menu.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause a black screen when opening the door to a hidden room.
  • Super Game Over: Fixed an issue where players would spawn without a player character when starting a new game after getting a game over in Permades mode.
  • Players can no longer ignore the space and time to open ETO Safe indefinitely.

PC

  • Fixed an issue that could cause operatives to fall into the water when building with AMD GPUs.
  • Fixed an issue where players could get stuck in saving after the game was over.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when loading the team menu.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when using inventory.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause lightning to be blown off during the day.
  • Optimized load time when exiting the main menu.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when the game auto-detected an input device.
  • Fixed an out of memory crash.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when raytracing was enabled or disabled.
  • Further optimizations made to save the game reduce the chance of breakage or loss of progress.

Xbox (general)

  • Added Arabic subtitles to the English and Russian versions of the game.
  • Fixed an issue where voiceovers could be auto-muted.

Xbox One

  • Fixed an issue that could cause a crash when recruiting Albion Guards in the mission “Inside Albion”.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur after playing for a long time.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when exiting the drone’s point of view during the “Into the Void” mission.
  • Further optimizations made to save the game reduce the chance of breakage or loss of progress.

Xbox series X

  • Fixed an issue where the game would launch in English when the console language was set to Arabic.
  • Improved graphics in case of corruption.

PlayStation 4

  • Fixed a crash that could occur when exiting the game.
  • Fixed a crash that could sometimes occur when spawning into a new area.
  • Further optimizations made to save the game reduce the chance of damage or loss of progress.

Playstation 5

  • Fixed a crash that could sometimes occur when restarting the game from the main menu.
  • Fixes a crash that could occur when exiting the game.
  • Fixed a black screen that could occur when playing the “Inside Albion” mission.

Stadia

  • Fixed an issue that could cause lightning to be blown off during the day.
  • Optimized load time when exiting the main menu.
