By the time you read this Watch Dogs: Legion Has been released or will be released soon. This is a great opportunity to see how it is maintained at the technical level.
The short version is “Holy Shit”. Because these benchmarking tools are some of the best I’ve ever seen in a game. But before that, let’s talk about specs.

So my PC is very good, but not cutting edge with 3080 or something. Sitting near the “very high in ray tracing” recommendations. Watch Dogs: Legion.. This is important. This is to see how this works on my machine with RTX turned on.We will also look very See the higher settings, and how badly they stagger my poor PC.

I’m not going to go through all the other options, but the usual suspects are there. The FOV is adjustable, has a multi-monitor setup, and allows you to change the reticle. You can turn on or off any kind of HUD element, including the inevitable Ubisoft tips that get bloody everywhere.
I want to talk a little Watch Dogs: LegionHowever, it has a control binding because it has a nice little feature. In addition to being able to rebind virtually everything (until you rebind the keys in a football trick mini-game), it’s a great way to see exactly which keys are used in which mode and what all the keys do. There is a “virtual keyboard”. It’s trivial, but it’s nice.
But I think what you are really interested in is “how it is done” and “what it looks like”.Let’s talk about the performance of Watch Dogs: Legion the first.
It uses a built-in benchmark mode (yes, it will spurt out soon) and tests a variety of higher settings. I’m not going to do a hard benchmark on low-end settings, but I’ll take a closer look at how strongly this pushes my system.
First, let’s take a look at how all settings that aren’t completely related to RTX or DLSS work literally.This is actually the above Ultra preset. However, the only real change is more cars with headlight shadows.
So that’s not really bad, and the benchmark breakdown is very detailed. You can see that this exceeds my VRAM. You can also see the average FPS and the absolute minimum FPS, but you will probably reach 20 FPS only once. It was 31 FPS in 0.1% of the time and 41 FPS in 1% of the time. Assuming the actual minimum is a short stutter or spike, this means that it rarely falls below 40 FPS in real play.
But the really cool shit is on the impact screen.
This screen doesn’t just remind you of which Watch Dogs: LegionThere are settings, but they give a rough idea of the impact these settings have on VRAM, GPU, and CPU.It Also Shows where the bottleneck was during the benchmark. It’s not the most detailed, but Tremendously Useful for fine-tuning the settings. For example, if you look at this, you can see that you need to dial down the CPU-heavy settings and the VRAM-heavy settings. So texture resolution is a good bet, but reflection only helps fix one of those issues. This is one of the best in-game benchmarking tools I have ever seen.
We ran 9 benchmarks with different settings. The first seven results are as follows:
- All Max (Ultra Presets and above), RTX and DLSS Off: Average 52 FPS
- Everything is max, RTX is medium: average 31 FPS
- Everything is max, RTX is medium, DLSS is performance: average 56 FPS
- Everything is max, RTX is medium, DLSS is balanced: 51FPS average
- Very high presets, RTX on ultra, DLSS off: average 33 FPS
- Very high presets, RTX in Ultra, DLSS in Balance: 56 FPS on average
- Very high presets, high RTX, balanced DLSS: average 58 FPS
The points from now on are quite impressive. Most notable Garganchuan Performance gains by using DLSS in basically any format. Watch Dogs: Legion In reality, DLSS has four settings. Quality, performance, balance, and ultra performance, the latter is targeted at 8K (!). Most of the time I tended to focus on quality and balance, but to be honest, it looks great regardless.
Another point is that even this machine, which is below the RTX recommended threshold, is fully playable and rarely falls below 45 FPS. Also, if you are running at a low resolution such as 1080p, performance can be significantly improved. Watch Dogs: Legion.. Note that pushing everything to Ultra actually exceeds my VRAM as well.
That said, it’s worth noting that benchmarks haven’t pushed the game to the chaotic limits. Benchmarking takes place in a small area of Camden Market with lots of neon lights and shootings and explosions, but not as burdensome as it is on a busy street with dozens of cars.
As the last bit of the benchmark, I decided to push the settings to the absolute limit. With Ultra RTX, everything in absolutely the best settings.
When I turned off DLSS, this was … a problem. The average FPS here was 27, which routinely dropped to 10 seconds. Setting DLSS to balanced (rather than performance) improved this at an average of 46 FPS and rarely fell below 35. Also, this far exceeds the settings I should try.

That’s how it’s done, but what does it look like? Most of the screenshots scattered around the reviews and guides have RTX turned off, but they give a pretty good impression of the overall look of the game.In short, it’s pretty nice, but the hair is a little fluffy and the gray and brown buildings don’t show much Watch Dogs: LegionMaximize the graphics. But let’s take a look at some comparative shots.
Direct comparison shots are difficult because what’s happening in the world is randomized, but I did my best. This section describes the lowest possible settings and Ultra presets using Ultra RTX and Balanced DLSS. All I turned off was motion blur and depth of field. Because these are enemies of both screenshots and those with functional eye pairs.
Finally, we need to talk about bugs and crashes. Usually I can only talk about my experience. It was pretty solid, except that one recruitment mission was a bit broken, occasional invisible enemies, and occasional civilians entering the wall. Crashes are rare and most often occur when you raise the settings beyond what your computer can handle, or when you are running something else in the background.My only other big problem is Watch Dogs: Legion It took a long time to return the control when exiting the main menu.
But this is not many other experiences from what I can collect. Our own Andrew Farrell crashed quite regularly during the cutscene. I’ve seen other people who access the game early crash when they access menus and maps.The plus side is that Watch Dogs: Legion It automatically saves on a regular basis, but that’s not a big plus.
I’ve heard through the vines that a fairly large patch is coming, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s a PC patch, a console, or both. I also don’t know how long it will take. Therefore, to some extent, the buyer should be careful.
Most of the time my idea is Watch Dogs: Legion The PC version is a great success. It has all the options I can ask for and is one of the most useful in-game benchmarks I’ve ever seen, with great control over the mouse and keyboard, both raytraced reflexes and DLSS.
