Of the week ending on October 9th The seasonally adjusted initial bill was 293,000, A decrease of 36,000 from the correction level of the previous week. This is the lowest level of first billing since 256,000 on March 14, 2020. Last week’s level increased by 3,000 from 326,000 to 329,000. The 4-week moving average was 334,250, a decrease of 10,500 from the previous week’s revised average. This is the lowest level of this average since 225,500 on March 14, 2020. The average for the previous week increased by 750 from 344,000 to 344,750.

Regular state renewal billing fell from 2,727,000 (SA) last week to 2,593,000 (SA).

Weekly complaints were lower than the consensus forecast.
