World dairy trade index falls to Tuesday trade

The global dairy trade index has fallen in eight consecutive auctions. The trading event index fell 1% on Tuesday, with an average price of $ 3,784 per metric ton.

Prices for skim milk fat, butter, cheddar cheese, and skim milk powder went up, but prices for buttermilk powder, sweet whey powder, lactose, and whole milk powder fell.

Anhydrous milk fat increased 1.3% to $ 5,668, or $ 2.62 per pound.

Butter rose 3.8% to $ 4,589 per ton, or $ 2.89 per pound.

Buttermilk powder was down 8% to $ 3,246 per ton, or $ 1.52 per pound.

Cheddar cheese rose 0.7% and closed at $ 4,065 per ton, or $ 1.93 per pound.

Lactose was down 3.1% to $ 1,094 per ton, or $ 0.49 per pound.

Skim milk powder was up 1.5% to $ 3,020, or $ 1.36 per pound.

The price of whole milk powder fell 3.8% to $ 3,598 per ton, or $ 1.69 per pound.

No sweet whey powder was offered at this GDT Trading Event.
