Yoel Romero makes his Verator debut in August after former UFC middleweight title challenger Yoel Romero was forced to withdraw from the light heavyweight division against Anthony Johnson at Verator 258. Aim to fulfill.
Romero, who failed a pre-match health check due to an eye injury, can’t wait to get back into action and is ready to “kill someone” when he finally steps into the cage.
“Fans can see me right away,” Romero said in a recent interview.Via Middle Easy). “Maybe August. Maybe August, maybe 205, maybe 185. I want to fight in both classes …. I want to kill someone.”
Romero is unlikely to fight “Rumble” in the next battle, but “God’s Soldier” believes they are destined to intersect in the future.
“Yes, I can see this fight happening,” Romero said. “I see the face of this wonderful athlete. I think it will be.”
Romero and Johnson were initially scheduled to face Verator’s Light Heavyweight Grand Prix quarterfinals, but the latter will face Jose Augusto, who replaced Romero. Johnson wins the second round knockout and advances to the semi-finals against current Berator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov. Romero can serve as a backup fighter if one person is injured before the match.
Cuban powerhouses have lost three games in a row and haven’t fought since losing to Israel Adesanya at UFC 248.
