It’s a shame that we are mostly autopilot in our lives today. I don’t even know what I’m doing in half the time.
How many times has this happened to you: you are driving on the road and after a few minutes you ask yourself, “Why did you get here?” You don’t even remember the last moments of your life that you just traveled to get to where you are.
We’ll show you how you can start living in the present so that you can enjoy today, tomorrow, and beyond. But first, let me show you why the method you are thinking about is hindering you.
Why so distracting
Our minds always want to think about something, a memory, a thought, or a dream. In most cases, it’s not the productive thing we think of.
Many people spend a lot of time thinking about the past. We think about what we did, what we didn’t do, what we weren’t happy with what happened to us, and what we regret in our lives.
Also, many spend a lot of time thinking about the future, such as fear, stress, and worry.
Why living in the present is the right choice
Not enough people think about what they are and spend their time on being.
Now, this moment-now-is where reality is.
You are living in the past and in the future. It’s just a state of mind.
The spirit is so powerful that you can always remind yourself of what you like, good or bad, happy or sad. Unfortunately, we have adjusted ourselves to think about the negative aspects of things, but that’s not a very good way of life.
To have more control over your life, you have to control the present moment.
Let’s talk about some of the benefits of this.
The first is a significant increase in productivity. why? Because you are really focused on the task at hand. Ask yourself what I am doing now, how I can get the most out of this task, and how I can devote 110% of my efforts to this task now.
Another great advantage is that it gives you peace of mind. You don’t have to worry about what happened in the past or what will happen in the future. You are in a state of ignorance and it is where you are.
This allows you to:
- Whatever it is, accept your current situation.
- Don’t let the emotions that occur within you.
- Look more clearly at the emotions that are happening inside you.
- You have more control over the thoughts you feel.
How to start living now
We cannot change the past and there is no reason to overcome what has already happened. Everything is a learning experience, an opportunity for growth, a way to learn from it and grow as an individual.
I think we can predict and direct the future. The truth is … I can’t.
The trick you like to use to exist, no matter what the task, even if you try to perform the task for the first time.
A good example is when you’re trying to find an address in your car. You have never been to this place and you don’t know where to go.
You are very much about what you are doing, where you are heading, which streets you are turning, which streets you are not turning, where you are heading, and exactly how to get there. Focus on and notice the surroundings.
You are very focused on the steps you must take to reach your final destination.
You see, with this technique, you don’t rush things around. It’s less stressful because you don’t have to worry about what will happen in the future or regret what happened in the past.
It really relaxes and brings you satisfaction, as you feel a sense of accomplishment each time you complete the task at hand.
This is not easy and takes time. With a little effort, you will begin to exist in what you are doing, you will find that you are enjoying it more, and you will be able to make the little things in life more enjoyable.
For the rest of the day, whenever you find yourself suffering from a problem, refocus on what you’re doing now. If you keep repeating this, you will find that it reduces your worries and helps you enjoy your day more.
